IN FOSTER CARE IN SWITZERLAND

Ringo Star is a beautiful 16-month-old Griffon Nivernais who has been in private foster care for the past six months. During that time, he has transformed tremendously – not only physically, but mentally too.

When Ringo first arrived, he was severely underweight due to an untreated parasite and had likely never lived as part of a family. Today, he is a healthy, happy young dog who is fully house-trained, walks beautifully on a lead, and has embraced life as a much-loved companion.

Like many adolescent dogs, Ringo is full of curiosity, enthusiasm and playful energy. He is affectionate, intelligent and eager to learn, always ready to explore the world with his people. His excellent nose and natural drive would make him a fantastic partner for scent work, tracking, mantrailing, agility or an active outdoor lifestyle. Equally, he would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys long walks, hiking and spending time in nature.

Ringo gets along well with most dogs, particularly females and neutered males. However, we believe he would thrive either as an only dog, where he can enjoy his family’s undivided attention, or in a home with a confident female companion.

As a typical hunting breed, Ringo has moderate prey drive and is therefore not suitable for a home with cats. Because he is still a young, lively dog who is learning about boundaries, we feel he would be happiest in a home with older children.

Ringo has come such a long way in a short time and is now ready for the next chapter of his life. He is looking for an active family or individual who will continue his training, give him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, and, above all, offer him the love, patience and stability he deserves.

In return, you’ll gain a loyal, funny and affectionate companion with enormous potential and a lifetime of adventures ahead of him.

Due to the warm weather and Ringo’s previous parasite attack, his coat was trimmed at the end of July to help him feel cooler and allow new, healthy fur to grow out. (see above)
