Adopt a Spanish Rescue Dog in Switzerland
Thinking about rescuing?
Hope for Hounds Rescue helps abandoned and unwanted Spanish hounds find loving homes, including with families in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Our international network grew from Casa de Griffon, which began in Galicia, northern Spain, rescuing Griffons and other hunting dogs who desperately needed another chance.
Spanish rescue dogs for adoption in Switzerland
Many Spanish hunting dogs are wonderful companions but find themselves abandoned or surrendered when they are no longer wanted. Hope for Hounds Rescue works to change their future. We rescue and support Griffons, Beagles, Podencos and other Spanish hounds and crosses while finding homes suited to their individual personalities and needs.
Griffon rescue and adoption
Griffons remain particularly close to our hearts. Our original name, Casa de Griffon, reflected the number of Griffons we were helping in Spain. These characterful, often wonderfully scruffy hounds can make loyal and affectionate companions.
Today our work extends to other hounds as well, but our experience and understanding of Griffons remains an important part of Hope for Hounds Rescue.
Adopting a Spanish rescue dog in Switzerland
Adopting internationally involves more than choosing a dog from a photograph. The dog’s temperament, needs and suitability for the adopter’s lifestyle all matter. We prepare our dogs for adoption and work with adopters to help make the transition from rescue in Spain to family life as smooth as possible.
If you are based in Switzerland or Liechtenstein and are considering adopting from Spain, take a look at our dogs waiting for homes. Every adoption creates space and resources to help another dog in need.
From Spain to a new life
Our rescue work remains firmly rooted in Spain. And the dogs are cared for through our trusted network while they await adoption. When the right home is found, the next stage is preparing the dog for its journey and new life. Seeing a dog leave difficult circumstances in Spain and become a much loved family member is why we do this work.
