Adopt a Spanish Rescue Dog in the Netherlands or Belgium
Thinking about rescuing?
Hope for Hounds Rescue helps abandoned and unwanted dogs from Spain find loving homes, including with adopters in the Netherlands or Belgium.
Our rescue began in Galicia, northern Spain, under our former name Casa de Griffon. Today our international team continues that work as Hope for Hounds Rescue.
Spanish rescue dogs for adoption in the Netherlands or Belgium
Many of the dogs we help are hunting breeds or crosses who have been abandoned, surrendered or ended up in Spanish pounds. They include Griffons, Beagles, Podencos and other hounds.
Whatever their background, our aim is the same: to give each dog the opportunity to become a valued family member.
Adopt a Griffon from Spain
Our story has always had a special connection with Griffons. Casa de Griffon was created after seeing how many of these dogs needed help in Spain.
Their shaggy appearance is distinctive, but it is their personalities that win so many people over. Griffons can be affectionate, intelligent and wonderfully individual dogs. Alongside Griffons, we now help other Spanish hounds who face many of the same problems.
Adopting a Dog from Spain
International rescue needs to be handled carefully. Our dogs receive the appropriate preparation before adoption, and we work to make sure adopters understand the individual dog they are welcoming into their home. We believe successful rescue is not simply about getting a dog out of Spain. It is about finding a home where that dog can stay for the rest of its life.
Rescue dogs from Galicia
Hope for Hounds Rescue remains closely connected to Galicia, where our story began. Our trusted network provides safe accommodation and care while dogs wait for their new families.
Although our adopters and volunteers may be spread across different countries, the dogs in Spain remain at the centre of everything we do.
