Giving a rescue dog a home is a big decision – and finding the right match matters.
Hope for Hounds Rescue helps abandoned and unwanted dogs from Spain find loving homes across Europe. Many are Griffons, Beagles, Podencos and other hounds or hunting breeds, each with their own personality, history and needs.
We get to know our dogs as well as we can before adoption and look carefully at both the dog and the prospective home. Our aim is not simply to find a home quickly, but to find the right home for that particular dog.

Adopting from Spain
We rescue our dogs in Spain, with much of our work rooted in Galicia in the north of the country. Once we find the right home, we help prepare the dog for the journey to their new family, including the necessary documentation for international adoption. This reflects the existing country-page material about preparing dogs and their paperwork before travel.
