…this is the story of Buddy

He didn’t know what today was when he woke up, but we did.
On this day this weekend, the last one in April, Buddy goes to a place he would call home. For real, this time.

Months ago, Buddy was just another dog in a Spanish pound. A wire-haired, golden-hearted griffon who had known very little softness in his life. Then Si Dixon opened his home, his routine, and his heart to this boy, and everything changed. That’s what fostering does.

Fostering doesn’t just hold a dog; it changes a dog.

The Buddy who arrived was uncertain. The Buddy leaving today? Look at him👆🏼 Nose to the sky. Chest forward and ready. This transformation, from surviving to living, happens because people like Si Dixon say yes when it would have been easier to say nothing.

On behalf of Buddy and everyone at Hope for Hounds Rescue, thank you, Si Dixon. What you gave him cannot be measured. And to Buddy’s new family, you are getting one of the really good ones. He already knows how to be loved. Si made sure of that.

This is why we do what we do. This is the whole point.
